Module: DOCS-IF31-MIB
OID (symbolic): DOCS-IF31-MIB::docsIf31CmtsCmUsOfdmaChannelStdDevRxMer
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4491.2.1.28.1.4.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: HundredthdB
Access: read-only
Description: This attribute is the standard deviation of the dB values of the RxMER measurements of all active subcarriers. The standard deviation is computed directly on the dB values as follows:
StdDev = sqrt(sum of (RxMER dB vals - RxMER_mean)^2 / # RxMER vals)
What is docsIf31CmtsCmUsOfdmaChannelStdDevRxMer?
Reports, in hundredths of a dB, the standard deviation of the per-subcarrier RxMER measurements for this modem's OFDMA upstream channel. A high standard deviation alongside a normal mean RxMER (docsIf31CmtsCmUsOfdmaChannelMeanRxMer) points an admin toward localized impairments, like ingress or micro-reflections affecting only part of the spectrum, rather than a uniform noise floor problem.
