Module: DOCS-IF31-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOCS-IF31-MIB::docsIf31CmDsOfdmProfileStatsInMulticastOctets

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4491.2.1.28.1.10.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: This attribute is the count of MAC-layer multicast and broadcast octets received by the CM on this profile. This value is the size of all frames (including all MAC-layer framing) delivered from the Phy to the MAC and addressed to a multicast MAC address; this includes user data, DOCSIS MAC Management Messages, etc.

Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at reinitialization of the managed system, and at other times as indicated by the value of docsIf31CmDsOfdmProfileStats- CtrDiscontinuityTime.

What is docsIf31CmDsOfdmProfileStatsInMulticastOctets?

A 64-bit counter of MAC-layer multicast and broadcast octets (including framing overhead, user data, and DOCSIS MAC management messages) received by the modem on this downstream OFDM profile. Admins can compare this against the unicast octet counter to see how much of a modem's downstream traffic on this profile is shared multicast/broadcast content, such as video or DOCSIS management traffic; the counter can reset on system reinitialization.
