Module: DOCS-IF31-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOCS-IF31-MIB::docsIf31CmDsOfdmProfileStatsInMulticastFrames

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4491.2.1.28.1.10.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: This attribute is the count of multicast frames received by the CM on this profile. This value is the count of all frames delivered from the Phy to the MAC and addressed to a multicast MAC address; this includes user data, DOCSIS MAC Management Messages, etc., but excludes frames sent to a broadcast address.

Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at reinitialization of the managed system, and at other times as indicated by the value of docsIf31CmDsOfdmProfileStats- CtrDiscontinuityTime.

What is docsIf31CmDsOfdmProfileStatsInMulticastFrames?

A 64-bit counter of MAC frames received by the modem on this downstream OFDM profile that were addressed to a multicast MAC address, excluding frames sent to the broadcast address; a subset of the total frame count in docsIf31CmDsOfdmProfileStatsInFrames. Admins use this to separate shared/multicast traffic volume (e.g. video delivery) from unicast traffic on a given profile; the counter can reset on system reinitialization.
