docsDevCmtsNotifControl

Module: DOCS-IETF-CABLE-DEVICE-NOTIFICATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOCS-IETF-CABLE-DEVICE-NOTIFICATION-MIB::docsDevCmtsNotifControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.132.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-write

Description: The object is used to enable specific CMTS notifications. For example, if the first bit is set, then docsDevCmtsInitRegRspFailNotif is enabled. If it is not set, the notification is disabled. Note that notifications are also under the control of the MIB modules defined in RFC3413.

If the device is rebooted,the value of this object SHOULD revert to the default value.

What is docsDevCmtsNotifControl?

This BITS object lets an operator selectively enable which SNMP notifications the CMTS head-end will send for registration and service-provisioning failures, and like its cable-modem counterpart it relies on the RFC3413 notification MIBs being set up to actually deliver the alert once the bit is set. Because the spec states the value should revert to default on reboot, an administrator who wants a custom notification set needs the device to persist that configuration across restarts. For example, enabling bit 6 (cmtsBpiInitNotif) causes the CMTS to notify only when Baseline Privacy Interface initialization fails for a modem, while dynamic-service and DCC-related notifications remain suppressed.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DOCS-IETF-CABLE-DEVICE-NOTIFICATION-MIB::docsDevCmtsNotifControl

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.132.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DOCS-IETF-CABLE-DEVICE-NOTIFICATION-MIB::docsDevCmtsNotifControl.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.132.1.2.1 s <value>
