Module: DOCS-DRF-MIB

OID (symbolic): DOCS-DRF-MIB::docsDrfChannelBlockMute

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4491.2.1.23.1.5.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: The Mute control object for the Block Channel. A set to this object to 'true' is reflected in ifOperStatus set to 'down' of the QAM channels associated to the block Channel. The opposite, a set to this object to 'false', is not necessarily reflected as ifOperStatus set to 'up' since other interface conditions might prevent such status.

What is docsDrfChannelBlockMute?

This read-write TruthValue controls whether all QAM channels associated with a channel block are muted, which is reflected as ifOperStatus 'down' on those channels when set to true. An admin uses this to take an entire RF connector's worth of QAM channels offline for maintenance or fault isolation without touching each channel's interface settings individually. Setting this object to true on a block immediately drops ifOperStatus to down for every QAM channel in that block, while setting it back to false does not guarantee ifOperStatus returns to up if other conditions are blocking it.
