dlswIfVirtualSegment

Module: DLSW-MIB

OID (symbolic): DLSW-MIB::dlswIfVirtualSegment

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.46.1.3.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: The segment number that uniquely identifies the virtual segment to which this DLSw interface is connected. Current source routing protocols limit this value to the range 0 - 4095. (The value 0 is used by some management applications for special test cases.) A value of 65535 signifies that no virtual segment is assigned to this interface. For instance, in a non-source routing environment, segment number assignment is not required.

What is dlswIfVirtualSegment?

Identifies the ring/segment number (0-4095, or 65535 for none) assigned to this DLSw interface for source-route bridging purposes; the value 0 is reserved for special test cases by some management tools. An admin assigns a segment number when source routing is in use, or leaves it at the default 65535 in non-source-routing environments where no segment assignment is needed.
