dlswDirNBCacheNextIndex

Module: DLSW-MIB

OID (symbolic): DLSW-MIB::dlswDirNBCacheNextIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.46.1.4.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The next value of dlswDirNBIndex to be assigned by the agent. A retrieval of this object atomically reserves the returned value for use by the manager to create a row in dlswDirNBTable. This makes it possible for the agent to control the index space for the NetBIOS name cache, yet allows the manager to administratively create new rows.

What is dlswDirNBCacheNextIndex?

Returns the next index value the agent will assign for a new row in dlswDirNBTable; reading it atomically reserves that value for the manager to use when creating a NetBIOS directory entry. This gives the agent control of the NetBIOS cache's index space while still letting a manager provision new rows administratively.
