Module: DLINKSW-WEB-AUTH-MIB

OID (symbolic): DLINKSW-WEB-AUTH-MIB::dWebAuthVirtualIpv6

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.154.1.4

Type: InetAddressIPv6

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates the virtual IPv6 address which is used to accept authentication requests from an unauthenticated host.

This virtual IPv6 address is used to accept authentication requests from an unauthenticated host. Only requests sent to this IP will get a correct response.

NOTE: This IPv6 does not respond to ICMPv6 packets.

What is dWebAuthVirtualIpv6?

This object configures the virtual IPv6 address used the same way as its IPv4 counterpart, accepting authentication requests from unauthenticated hosts on IPv6 networks. It is important for dual-stack deployments where clients might reach the portal over IPv6, and like the IPv4 version it does not respond to ICMPv6 so it cannot be pinged directly. An admin might set it to fe80::1 to give IPv6-only unauthenticated clients a reachable portal address.
