esIndexPC

Module: DL150-STD-MIB

OID (symbolic): DL150-STD-MIB::esIndexPC

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3052.6.1.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The part of the point index that refers to point class.

The point index is a string of 3 numbers separated by periods. It contains all the information necessary for getting a piece of data off an event sensor; namely, which EventSensor, point class, and which-sensor-of-that-class (a.k.a. point).

The values for this object are: 1=temperature sensor 2=contact closure 3=humidity sensor 4=noise sensor 5=analog input 6=relay

What is esIndexPC?

This read-only value is the point-class portion of the 3-part point index, identifying what kind of sensor a monitored point is: temperature, contact closure, humidity, noise, analog input, or relay. An admin cares because it lets management software or an admin interpret what type of measurement a given point index represents, since the same numeric point could be a temperature reading on one EventSensor and a contact closure on another. For example, esIndexPC=3 identifies the point as a humidity sensor reading, while esIndexPC=6 would mean it's a relay output.
