clock

Module: DL150-STD-MIB

OID (symbolic): DL150-STD-MIB::clock

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3052.6.2.8.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: Text string for date and time; e.g. 'SUN 01/02/98 12:34:27'. When setting this object, only the date and time are required; the unit will ignore a specified day of week because it is calculated from the date and time. When this object is included in a notification as a varbind, it represents the time that the triggering event occurred.

What is clock?

This read-write string holds the unit's current date and time, formatted like SUN 01/02/98 12:34:27. An admin cares because reading it confirms the unit's onboard clock is set correctly, which matters for accurate event timestamps, and when this object appears as a varbind in a trap it shows exactly when the triggering event occurred; when setting it, only the date and time need to be supplied since the day of week is calculated automatically. For example, an admin might set clock to WED 08/27/26 09:15:00 to correct the unit's time after a power outage reset its internal clock.
