lookupCtlOperStatus

Module: DISMAN-NSLOOKUP-MIB

OID (symbolic): DISMAN-NSLOOKUP-MIB::lookupCtlOperStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.82.1.3.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Reflects the operational state of an lookupCtlEntry:

enabled(1) - Operation is active. notStarted(2) - Operation has not been enabled. completed(3) - Operation has been completed.

An operation is automatically enabled(1) when its lookupCtlRowStatus object is transitioned to active(1) status. Until this occurs, lookupCtlOperStatus MUST report a value of notStarted(2). After the lookup operation is completed (success or failure), the value for lookupCtlOperStatus MUST be transitioned to completed(3).

What is lookupCtlOperStatus?

This reports the current state of a configured lookup operation as one of enabled(1), notStarted(2), or completed(3). Admins poll it to know when a lookup they triggered has finished, since it starts at notStarted(2), flips to enabled(1) automatically the moment the row is activated, and moves to completed(3) once the query succeeds or fails. A monitoring script might poll this every few seconds after activating a row and only read lookupCtlRc once it reports completed(3).
