Module: DIRECTORY-MONITOR-MIB

OID (symbolic): DIRECTORY-MONITOR-MIB::directoryState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.7777.2.2.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: accessible-for-notify

Description: Directory state.

What is directoryState?

This accessible-for-notify octet string reports the current state of the monitored directory, and is the payload object carried by the directoryStateNotification trap. An admin doesn't poll this directly in normal operation but relies on it being included in the state-change notification, so their trap receiver can display what changed when the directory's state transitions. For example, when a monitored directory becomes inaccessible, the device sends a directoryStateNotification trap carrying the updated directoryState value describing that condition.
