Description: Specify the host name to be inserted in the DHCPDISCOVER and DHCPREQUEST message. The specified host name must start with a letter, end with a letter or digit, and have only letters, digits, and hyphen as interior characters; the maximal length is 63. By default, the host name is empty. When set an empty host name, means to clear the host name setting and use the default value to encode option 12.

What is swL3IpCtrlIpDhcpOption12HostName?

The host name string (letters, digits, and hyphens only, up to 63 characters, starting and ending with a letter/digit) inserted as DHCP option 12 in this interface's DHCP requests; empty by default, and writing an empty value clears it back to the default encoding. Set this when you want the DHCP server's logs and lease records to show a recognizable name for this device rather than a generic default.
