aniDevSwWssSoftwareFile

Module: DEVSW-MIB

OID (symbolic): DEVSW-MIB::aniDevSwWssSoftwareFile

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4325.2.2.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-only

Description: The WSS software file name for the BSU.

This parameter is applicable only for the BSU. When an SNMP Get request is sent on this parameter on a SU, an empty string is returned since it is not supported. Similarly, when BSU is in point to point mode, this parameter is not valid and returns an empty string. Also, for PacketWave 750, this parameter is not valid and displays an empty string.

What is aniDevSwWssSoftwareFile?

This read-only value is the name of the WSS software file loaded on the Base Station Unit (BSU); it returns an empty string when queried on a Subscriber Unit (SU), when the BSU is in point-to-point mode, or on a PacketWave 750, since the field doesn't apply in those cases. It tells an admin which wireless subsystem software image is active specifically on BSU hardware in a point-to-multipoint deployment. An admin polling this OID on an SU by mistake would correctly see an empty string rather than an error, since the field simply isn't meaningful for that device role.
