deviceNMSEnterpriseTrapList

Module: DEVICE-MIB

OID (symbolic): DEVICE-MIB::deviceNMSEnterpriseTrapList

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.1.4.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The bitmask describing the enterprise specific traps that this NMS can receive. These kinds of traps begin at the value 7 (values 0-6 are taken by the MIBII traps). The bit-mask is handled in the way this example shows for a specific trapType of (say) 55:

specificTrapType/8 = 55/8 = 6. specificTrapType % 8 = 7.

There are 20 bytes in this mask and the 7th bit in the 6th byte is set.

What is deviceNMSEnterpriseTrapList?

This 20-byte bitmask controls which vendor-specific (enterprise) traps, numbered from 7 upward, this NMS entry may receive — for trap type 55 for example, byte 6 (55/8) bit 7 (55%8) would be set. Admins use this to fine-tune enterprise trap delivery per management station beyond the basic MIB-II traps.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.1.4.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DEVICE-MIB::deviceNMSEnterpriseTrapList

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.1.4.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DEVICE-MIB::deviceNMSEnterpriseTrapList.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.1.4.1.5.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> deviceNMSEnterpriseTrapList.1
