aniDevControlSetFactoryDefaults

Module: DEVCONTROL-MIB

OID (symbolic): DEVCONTROL-MIB::aniDevControlSetFactoryDefaults

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4325.2.4.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-only

Description: This object provides an option to reset configuration parameters to factory defaults. Setting this object to true(1) allows restoring all configuration parameters to factory default values. Setting the object to false(2) is not allowed.

If a Get request is sent before this object is actually set, the value false(2) will be returned.

Note: This parameter is not supported for this release. Hence it is defined as a read-only object.

What is aniDevControlSetFactoryDefaults?

This object is meant to let an administrator restore the device's configuration to its factory defaults by setting it to true, but the description explicitly notes that in this release the feature isn't implemented and the object is locked to read-only. In practice this means an admin cannot currently reset a misconfigured device back to defaults through this OID and must rely on another mechanism such as the console or a firmware update. Reading it will simply return false(2), since no write path is currently active.
