Module: DELL-NETWORKING-FPSTATS-MIB

OID (symbolic): DELL-NETWORKING-FPSTATS-MIB::dellNetFpIfEgHgMacUnderFlow

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6027.3.27.1.13.1.21

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: Hg MacUnderflow

What is dellNetFpIfEgHgMacUnderFlow?

This read-only Counter64 reports the number of underflow events on the ASIC's internal higig/high-gigabit MAC (the chip-to-chip fabric interconnect used on multi-ASIC or stacked platforms), where the MAC ran out of data to send mid-frame, counted on this specific physical interface (this row is indexed by ifIndex/port, unlike the chassis-wide dellNetFpDrops* counters which aggregate the same reasons across the whole switch). This is a Broadcom-style switch-ASIC hardware drop counter: an admin troubleshooting unexplained packet loss walks this whole family of counters (Ingress*, Eg*, MMU*) looking for whichever one is actually incrementing, since that pinpoints the specific stage of the forwarding pipeline (STP state, ACL policy, buffer exhaustion, CRC error, TTL, etc.) where packets are being discarded, rather than just seeing generic interface drops.
