Description: Dropped statistics.
What is dellNetFpDropped?
Dropped statistics -- the total count of packets dropped by the CPU's fast-path packet-processing engine on this device, for any reason. This is one column of the dellNetFpCpuDataPlaneStatsTable, indexed by processor device type and device index, so it reports a running count for the CPU's own "fast path" packet-handling engine rather than for any one front-panel port. A rising value relative to dellNetFpRecvd tells an admin the control-plane CPU is discarding a growing share of the packets punted to it, which is worth investigating before it starts affecting protocols like STP, LACP, or routing that depend on CPU-handled packets.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6027.3.27.1.1.1.8 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DELL-NETWORKING-FPSTATS-MIB::dellNetFpDropped
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6027.3.27.1.1.1.8.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DELL-NETWORKING-FPSTATS-MIB::dellNetFpDropped.1
