Description: This device-specific object represents the TFTP capability of the device, in relation to its Management Agent Module (MAM). The TFTP protocol allows initiation of new program downloads to begin with either a TFTP READ packet, or a TFTP WRITE packet. This object is set to pcomLoadTftpDirectionStartRead to indicate that the device expects a TFTP READ packet to begin a new program download procedure. The object is set to pcomLoadTftpDirectionAckWrite, to indicate that the device expects a TFTP WRITE packet to begin a new program download procedure.
If an (older) device returns a 'no such object' error code, then the value of pcomLoadTftpDirectionAckWrite will be assumed by the requestor.
This object is non-volatile.
What is pcomLoadTftpDirection?
Indicates whether the device expects to initiate a firmware load with a TFTP READ or TFTP WRITE packet, letting the loading agent know which direction to drive the transfer. Older devices that don't support this object are assumed to use the AckWrite behavior by default.
