mlpppIpNsRemoteToLocalComp

Module: CXMLPPP-IP-NCP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CXMLPPP-IP-NCP-MIB::mlpppIpNsRemoteToLocalComp

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.6.49.52.1.41

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Identifies whether the remote end of the IP-PPP link is using TCP/IP header compression (vj-tcp) to send packets to the local end.

The value of this object is determined when the PPP configuration is negotiated. The local port's preference for header compression is determined using mlpppIpNcComp of mlpppIpNcTable.

Options: none (1)

vj-tcp (2): header compression

Default value: None

What is mlpppIpNsRemoteToLocalComp?

This read-only object reports whether the remote end of the IP-PPP link is using Van Jacobson TCP/IP header compression (vj-tcp) to send packets to the local end, as determined during PPP configuration negotiation. An admin checks this to see whether the remote peer negotiated header compression for its inbound-to-local traffic, complementing mlpppIpNsLocalToRemoteComp for the other direction. A value of none(1) would tell the admin the remote end is not compressing headers on packets it sends to the local system.
