mlpppIpNsLocalToRemoteComp

Module: CXMLPPP-IP-NCP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CXMLPPP-IP-NCP-MIB::mlpppIpNsLocalToRemoteComp

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.6.49.52.1.40

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Identifies whether the local end of the IP-PPP link is using TCP/IP header compression (vj-tcp) to send packets to the remote.

The value of this object is determined when the PPP configuration is negotiated. The local port's preference for header compression is determined using mlpppIpNcComp of mlpppIpNcTable.

Options: none (1)

vj-tcp (2): header compression

Default Value: None

What is mlpppIpNsLocalToRemoteComp?

This read-only object reports whether the local end of the IP-PPP link is using Van Jacobson TCP/IP header compression (vj-tcp) to send packets to the remote end, as determined during PPP configuration negotiation. An admin checks this to confirm whether header compression, configured locally via mlpppIpNcComp, was actually successfully negotiated for outbound traffic on this link. A value of vj-tcp(2) confirms the local end is compressing TCP/IP headers on packets sent to the remote peer.
