cxEvmTriggerFunction

Module: CXEventManager-MIB

OID (symbolic): CXEventManager-MIB::cxEvmTriggerFunction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.5.17.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Activates the Event Manager triggering mechanism. This triggering mechanism will send a MSG_EVM_TRIG type message that will contain cxEvmTriggerFunction and cxEvmTrigDestSapId to the module specified by cxEvmTrigDestTaskId.

Events manager functions are defined by module programmer for each module and are used to generate event to be sent to the Event Manager when specific conditions occurs such as errors, status, etc... .

Since writing this object will send a function trigger, it should be used carefully by advised users only.

What is cxEvmTriggerFunction?

This read-write integer, from 0 to 255 and defaulting to 0, activates the Event Manager's triggering mechanism, sending a MSG_EVM_TRIG message containing this value and cxEvmTrigDestSapId to the module identified by cxEvmTrigDestTaskId. Admins write to this object carefully, since doing so immediately fires a module-defined event trigger used to signal conditions like errors or status changes to the Event Manager. For example, writing a specific function code here notifies a target module such as the Frame Relay module of a defined event condition.
