cxEvmLogFileMaxSize
Module: CXEventManager-MIB
OID (symbolic): CXEventManager-MIB::cxEvmLogFileMaxSize
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.5.17.8.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Determines the maximum size, in KBytes, of the logfile specified by cxEvmLogFileId.
When determining the size you must take into consideration the size of all existing logfiles. The maximum size of a single file can not exceed 1000 Kbytes, and the sum of all the logfiles size cannot exceed 10 % of the memory available after system initialisation. This number can vary according to the product, the hardware configuration, and to the software used.
It is the responsability of the user to verify that the memory size specified is allowed by the system. If the system can not allow the specified memory size, the memory size value will be downsized automatically by the software.
Note: After a reset, the system must re-evaluate the RAM distribution and therefore it can reduce the maximum size value according to the memory available.
Range of Values: 1 to 1000
Default Value: none
Configuration Changed: operative
What is cxEvmLogFileMaxSize?
This read-write integer, from 1 to 1000 KBytes, sets the maximum size of the log file identified by cxEvmLogFileId, subject to a system-wide limit where the sum of all log file sizes cannot exceed 10 percent of memory available after initialization, and the value may be automatically downsized by the software if the requested size isn't available. Admins set this to cap how large an individual event log file can grow before older data is presumably rotated out. For example, setting it to 500 caps that log file at 500 KBytes, provided total memory allows it.
