cxCcLogDeviceSlot

Module: CXCommonConsole-MIB

OID (symbolic): CXCommonConsole-MIB::cxCcLogDeviceSlot

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.5.14.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Establishes the physical slot number in the local chassis where the logging device is located. All log messages produced locally are routed to this slot. However, if this slot is more than one hop away from the current Common Console, messages are discarded. If the value of this object is set to '0', the console considers that there is no logging device in this chassis and sends log messages to all endpoints connected to the local User Interface.

Range of Values: 1 - 16

Default Value: 0

Configuration Changed: operative

What is cxCcLogDeviceSlot?

This value identifies the physical chassis slot number where the logging device that receives locally generated log messages resides; if the target slot is more than one hop away the messages are discarded, and a value of 0 means there is no logging device, so messages instead go to all connected user-interface endpoints. An admin sets this to route logs to the correct hardware, or to 0 to fall back to broadcasting logs to attached terminals. For example, setting cxCcLogDeviceSlot to 3 directs all local log messages to the logging device installed in slot 3 of that chassis.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.5.14.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CXCommonConsole-MIB::cxCcLogDeviceSlot

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.5.14.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CXCommonConsole-MIB::cxCcLogDeviceSlot.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.495.2.1.5.14.5.1 i <value>
