What is cxCfgDot1dBasePortState?

This read-write enumerated integer sets the operating state of this STP bridge port, choosing between on, off, or binding the port to IP over Ethernet or Token Ring. Admins use it to enable or disable spanning tree participation on the port, or to specify that the port's Ethernet or Token Ring interface should bind to IP, which directly affects whether traffic flows through it. For example, setting cxCfgDot1dBasePortState to onether(3) tells the bridge to bind this port's Ethernet interface to IP instead of running plain Layer 2 STP forwarding.
