ctTransSrOther

Module: CTRON-TRANSLATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-TRANSLATION-MIB::ctTransSrOther

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.3.4.7.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object determines how the sr/tp translation of all 'other protocols' is handled. 'other protocols' includes any protocol not mentioned above (i.e. IP,IPX,NetBIOS, or SNA) or any of those mentioned above with the 'not supported' option selected.

This object applies to any 'other protocol' frame of type 'broadcast', 'destination unknown', or 'destination known but 'other protocol' not previously seen for this end station'. This object is only applicable for SRT interfaces.

If tp (1) is selected, the frame is forwarded out the SRT interface as a transparent frame.

If sr (2) is selected, the frame is forwarded out the SRT interface as a source route frame. If this end station has never been heard from before an explorer will be launched. Which explorer frame (ARE or STE) is dependent on the object ctTransSrExplorerMode defined above.

If auto (3) is selected, the frame is forwarded out the SRT interface as both a transparent frame and as a source route frame.

The default value is product specific.

What is ctTransSrOther?

Sets the fallback tp/sr/auto translation behavior for every other protocol's broadcast, undeliverable, or unseen-destination frames on this SRT interface -- including IP, IPX, NetBIOS, or SNA traffic if any of those was itself set to notsupported.
