What is ctFDDISerialAdminStatus?
This value sets the administratively desired connection state of this FNB serial control module, choosing whether it should be inserted into FNB-1, FNB-2, both, bypassed from both, or governed by hardware settings for one or both rings. An admin uses it to control ring membership for serial-controlled modules, for example forcing a module into bypass mode to remove it from the dual FDDI backbone rings during maintenance. For example, setting ctFDDISerialAdminStatus to bypass(4) would remove this module's connection from both FNB-1 and FNB-2, useful before physically servicing or replacing that module.
