Module: CTRON-CHASSIS-MIB
OID (symbolic): CTRON-CHASSIS-MIB::ctChasAlarmEna
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.3.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Allow an audible alarm to be either enabled or dis- abled. Setting this object to disable(1) will prevent an audible alarm from being heard and will also stop the sound from a current audible alarm. Setting this object to enable(2) will allow an audible alarm to be heard and will also enable the sound from a current audible alarm, if it has previously been disabled. This object will read with the current setting.
What is ctChasAlarmEna?
This read-write enumerated integer enables or disables the chassis's audible alarm, with disable(1) silencing both future alarms and any currently sounding alarm, enable(2) allowing new audible alarms to sound, and notSupported(3) for chassis without this capability. An administrator uses this to control whether hardware faults trigger an audible alert in the equipment room, useful for silencing a known, already-being-addressed alarm condition. For example, during scheduled maintenance expected to trigger a power supply alarm, the admin sets this object to disable(1) beforehand to avoid an unnecessary audible alert.
