What is pcDeferXmit?
This read-only integer counts the number of transmit packets from this PC that were deferred because the shared network media was busy. An admin uses a rising defer count as a sign of contention on the segment this PC is attached to, indicating the network is heavily loaded rather than pointing to a fault in the PC itself. For example, if most PCs on a shared segment show similarly elevated pcDeferXmit counts during business hours, the admin would conclude the segment is simply oversubscribed rather than suspecting any single PC.
