This read-only octet string holds a text description of the network application running on this PC. An admin uses this to understand the expected traffic pattern for a given PC, helping interpret whether its transmit and receive statistics look normal for that workload. For example, knowing pcApplication describes a PC as running a "backup client" would explain an otherwise unusual spike in pcBytesXmit during overnight hours.
