Description: The total number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be transmitted, and which were not addressed to a multicast or broadcast address at this sub-layer, including those that were discarded or not sent.
What is ctIfOutUcastPkts?
This read-only Counter tracks the total packets higher-level protocols requested be transmitted that were not addressed to a multicast or broadcast address, including packets discarded or never sent. An admin uses it, together with actual received traffic elsewhere, to diagnose transmit-side discards. For example, if ctIfOutUcastPkts climbs but the expected traffic never shows up at the far end, the admin suspects packets counted here are being discarded before transmission.
