Description: The total number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be transmitted, and which were addressed to a broadcast address at this sub-layer, including those that were discarded or not sent.
What is ctIfOutBroadcastPkts?
This read-only Counter tracks packets higher-level protocols requested be transmitted to a broadcast address, including those discarded or never sent. An admin watches for unusually high values that might indicate the device itself is generating excessive broadcast traffic. For example, unusually high ctIfOutBroadcastPkts on an interface leads the admin to investigate what local process is generating so much outbound broadcast traffic.
