Module: CTELS100-NG-MIB
OID (symbolic): CTELS100-NG-MIB::els100SwitchVlanEgressPorts
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.1011.3.13.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: OCTET STRING
Access: read-write
Description: The set of ports defined to be on other VLAN's to which tagged packets destined for this specific VLAN should also be sent. Thus, this variable defines ports on the system that reach stations downstream which are on this VLAN and to which traffic may be forwarded. Each octet within the value of this object specifies a set of eight ports, with the first octet specifying ports 1 through 8, the second octet specifying ports 9 through 16, etc. Within each octet, the most significant bit represents the lowest numbered port, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered port. Thus each port of the system is represented by a single bit within the value of this object. If that bit has a value of '1' then that port is included in the VLAN; the port is not included if its bit has a value of '0'.
What is els100SwitchVlanEgressPorts?
This defines the set of ports on other VLANs through which tagged packets destined for this specific VLAN should also be forwarded, reaching downstream stations on this VLAN through those trunked ports. It lets an admin configure trunk-style egress so a VLAN's traffic can reach stations beyond the switch's own directly assigned ports. An admin connecting this switch to an upstream trunk carrying multiple VLANs would include that trunk port in els100SwitchVlanEgressPorts for each VLAN needing to traverse it.
