Description: The port priority level assigned to untagged traffic entering the associated port. This variable can have a value in the range (0...7). This value is compared to the value of the els100SwitchPriorityThreshold variable to determine if the traffic on the port is high or normal.

What is els100SwitchPriorityDefault?

This sets the port priority level, from 0 to 7, assigned to untagged traffic entering this port, which is then compared against els100SwitchPriorityThreshold to decide if it's treated as high or normal priority. It lets an admin give untagged traffic from a specific device, like a phone without VLAN tagging support, an effective priority boost without requiring 802.1p tags. An admin connecting an analog gateway that can't tag its own traffic would raise els100SwitchPriorityDefault on that port so its traffic still gets high-priority treatment.
