Module: CTATX-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::swStarts

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.2.2.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: An array (4 octets per file), containing the software's execution starting address of each of the files. Each address is encoded as a series of 4 bytes, which should be converted into a 32 bit integer.

What is swStarts?

This read-only OCTET STRING is an array with 4 octets per file, giving each file's software execution starting address as a 32-bit integer. An engineer decodes it to confirm where a given code image begins executing in memory, useful when diagnosing a crash tied to a specific file. For example, engineering compares the decoded swStarts entry for the turbo code file against the address the bootloader is expected to jump to.
