What is stRootCost?
This read-only INTEGER, though its source description is empty, reports the accumulated spanning tree path cost from this bridge to the current root bridge. An administrator watches for a rising value after a link change as a sign that traffic is now taking a longer path to reach the root. For example, after a preferred uplink fails over to a backup link, the admin sees stRootCost increase, confirming spanning tree recalculated onto a higher-cost path.
