Description: The Spanning Tree Group address, normally 01-80-c2-00-00-00. Changing stGroupAddr will not take effect until the ES/1 reboots.
What is stGroupAddr?
This read-write OCTET STRING holds the Spanning Tree Group address, normally 01-80-c2-00-00-00, used for sending and receiving spanning tree BPDUs, with any change taking effect only after the ES/1 reboots. An administrator relies on this reserved multicast address remaining at its standard value for spanning tree to function correctly with other 802.1D-compliant devices. For example, the admin confirms stGroupAddr still reads the standard 01-80-c2-00-00-00 value after a firmware upgrade, ruling out a misconfiguration as the cause of missing BPDUs.
