sifThreshold

Module: CTATX-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::sifThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.7.2.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Maximum number of combined receive and transmit packet hardware errors before an alarm should be generated.

What is sifThreshold?

This read-write INTEGER sets the maximum number of combined receive and transmit hardware errors this port may accumulate before an alarm is generated. An administrator lowers it to make the hardware-error alarm more sensitive on a port suspected of a marginal cable or connector. For example, the admin lowers sifThreshold on a port suspected of a marginal cable so hardware errors trigger an alarm sooner.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.7.2.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CTATX-MIB::sifThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.7.2.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CTATX-MIB::sifThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.7.2.1.5.1 i <value>
