What is sfddiShortAddressing?
This read-only INTEGER flag reports whether the FDDI port has received any packets using 16-bit MAC addresses rather than the standard 48-bit addresses. An admin checks this to detect legacy or misconfigured stations on the ring still using the older short addressing scheme. Finding this set to true(1) on a modern FDDI ring would prompt the admin to track down which attached device is still sending 16-bit-addressed frames.
