Description: The maximum number of received packets destined to the ES/1 itself (versus those received packets to be forwarded) which can be stored, until the PPE is able to process them.
What is ppeUxTxCnt?
This read-write INTEGER sets the maximum number of packets destined to the ES/1 itself, as opposed to packets being forwarded, that can queue while waiting for the PPE to process them. An administrator tunes it to prevent locally-destined management traffic like SNMP or RIP from being silently dropped during a burst. For example, during an SNMP polling storm, the admin checks whether ppeUxTxCnt is being exhausted, causing self-destined management traffic to be dropped rather than processed.
