This read-write OCTET STRING has no source description text, but based on its name and its place alongside hwUseMod, hwPortStatus, and hwDefPortType, it is a per-port variable-length array controlling administrative use of individual ports on a module. An admin would set entries in this array to put or take individual ports into or out of service, the port-level counterpart to the module-level hwUseMod. For example, clearing the entry for a specific port on a multi-port IOM would be expected to take just that one port out of service while leaving the rest of the module's ports and the module itself in use.
