A rising count here tells the admin the switch's routing table capacity is being exceeded by the number of routes being advertised on the network, a condition that could leave some destinations unreachable. For example, if kxadminRipRouteDiscards starts increasing after a new subnet is added to the RIP-speaking network, the admin would recognize the switch's routing table has hit its capacity limit and needs to reduce the number of advertised routes or use route summarization.
