concTrapReceiverType

Module: CRESCENDO-MIB

OID (symbolic): CRESCENDO-MIB::concTrapReceiverType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.203.1.1.1.5.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Setting this object to invalid(2) removes the corresponding entry from the concTrapReceiverTable. To add a new entry to the concTrapReceiverTable, set the concTrapReceiverAddr to an IpAddress which is not already in the table. The concTrapReceiverType for that entry is automatically set to other(1).

What is concTrapReceiverType?

This read-write INTEGER controls a row in the concTrapReceiverTable: writing invalid(2) deletes that trap receiver entry, while adding a new receiver is done by setting concTrapReceiverAddr to an address not already listed, which the agent then automatically marks other(1). An administrator uses this mechanism to add or remove trap destinations without a dedicated row-creation command. For example, to stop sending traps to a decommissioned NMS, the admin writes invalid(2) to that receiver's entry to remove it from the table.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.203.1.1.1.5.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CRESCENDO-MIB::concTrapReceiverType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.203.1.1.1.5.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CRESCENDO-MIB::concTrapReceiverType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.203.1.1.1.5.1.1.1 i <value>
