concAttachType

Module: CRESCENDO-MIB

OID (symbolic): CRESCENDO-MIB::concAttachType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.203.1.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The requested concentrator attachment type. For a dual attachment concentrator connected to the trunk ring, port 1 on the supervisor module (or single board concentrator) is configured as A and port 2 is configured as B. For a single attachment concentrator connected beneath another concentrator, port 1 is configured as S and port 2 is configured as M. For a null attachment concentrator at the root of the tree, ports 1 and 2 are configured as M. This object does not take effect until the concentrator is reset. The current attachment type can be determined from snmpFddiPORTPCType for ports 1 and 2. Note that a concentrator with no MAC is always null attachment type.

What is concAttachType?

This read-write INTEGER sets the concentrator's requested ring attachment type, determining whether its two ports are configured as A/B for a dual-attachment unit on the trunk ring or as S/M for a single-attachment unit connected beneath another concentrator. An administrator configures this to match how the unit is physically cabled into the FDDI/CDDI topology. For example, setting dualAttach(2) on a concentrator that is actually cabled as single-attach would cause the ring to treat its ports incorrectly.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.203.1.1.1.7
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CRESCENDO-MIB::concAttachType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.203.1.1.1.7.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CRESCENDO-MIB::concAttachType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.203.1.1.1.7.1 i <value>
