cpqnNewFileVersion

Module: CPQNTFTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQNTFTP-MIB::cpqnNewFileVersion

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.121.9.5.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: DURABLE: This object specifies the version of the file to be downloaded. The agent uses this value to validate the downloaded file. An agent may allow this object to be left blank, in which case validation of the file versions will not be done (used for testing images, forcing a file when a version is not known, etc. Refer to the product-specific documentation for details on using this object.

What is cpqnNewFileVersion?

This read-write DisplayString, 4 to 12 characters and DURABLE across reboots, specifies the expected version of the file to be downloaded, which the agent uses to validate the file after transfer, though it can be left blank to skip version validation entirely (useful for testing images or forcing a file when the version isn't known). An admin sets this to guard against accidentally installing the wrong firmware or configuration version. For example, an admin sets this to '2.10' before a firmware download so the agent rejects the transfer if the downloaded file doesn't actually report that version.
