cpqSaveConfiguration

Module: CPQN54NN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQN54NN-MIB::cpqSaveConfiguration

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.111.3.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: write-only

Description: When this object is set, the device will copy the contents of the configuration database to a buffer and save it to the persistant store specified by the value of the object. The save is performed asynchronously, and the snmp agent will continue to respond to both gets and sets while the save is taking place. A network management application may use the cpqSaveStatus object to determine when the asynchronous save operation has completed.

What is cpqSaveConfiguration?

This write-only value triggers an asynchronous save of the device's configuration database to either the primary or secondary persistent store, chosen by the value set (saveToPrimary or saveToSecondary), while the SNMP agent keeps responding to other gets and sets during the save. An admin uses this to commit running configuration changes to non-volatile storage on a unit that maintains dual (primary/secondary) configuration images. For example, an admin sets this to saveToSecondary(2) to preserve a tested configuration on the backup store before making further risky changes to the primary.
