Description: %User Time is the percentage of non-idle processor time spent in user mode. User mode is a restricted processing mode designed for applications, environment subsystems, and integral subsystems. The alternative, privileged mode, is designed for operating system components and allows direct access to hardware and all memory. The operating system switches application threads to privileged mode to obtain operating system services.
What is cpqLinOsCpuUserTimePercent?
This read-only integer reports the percentage of non-idle processor time spent in unprivileged user mode, the restricted mode used by applications rather than the kernel. An admin compares this against cpqLinOsCpuPrivilegedTimePercent to see whether CPU load is dominated by application code or by the operating system and drivers. For example, a high user-time percentage combined with low privileged time would tell an admin that an application itself, not the kernel or drivers, is driving the CPU load.
