This read-only display string (up to 64 characters) holds the Enterprise OID String identifying which specific Compaq/HP product-line sub-tree this SNMP agent belongs to. An admin's management software uses this text to auto-detect the device type without having to parse raw numeric enterprise OIDs. It lets a monitoring tool tell a ProLiant server agent apart from a storage-array agent purely by reading this string.
