cpqExExternalStatusCondition

Module: CPQEXTERNAL-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPQEXTERNAL-MIB::cpqExExternalStatusCondition

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.17.2.2.2.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The condition of the external mib status variable. If the value does not exist or was of an invalid data type, this will be set to other(1).

The value will also be set to other(1) if the data returned does not match any of the defined values in the cpqExExternalStatusOkValues, cpqExExternalStatusDegradedValues, or cpqExExternalStatusFailedValues as defined.

What is cpqExExternalStatusCondition?

This read-only enumerated value (other, ok, degraded, failed) classifies the sampled external variable's value against the configured OK, degraded, and failed value lists, defaulting to other(1) if the value doesn't match any defined range or is of an invalid type. An administrator relies on this derived classification rather than interpreting the raw third-party value themselves. Seeing other(1) here would tell an admin the sampled value fell outside all three configured ranges, meaning the value-matching rules likely need to be revisited.
