enableEASSNMPControl

Module: CPI-UNITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CPI-UNITY-MIB::enableEASSNMPControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.30932.1.10.1.1.2.1.18.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Allows the use of SNMP to open/close the door locks. It is recommended that this only be enabled with SNMP v3 configurations.

What is enableEASSNMPControl?

This read-write enumerated INTEGER, disabled(0) or enabled(1), controls whether SNMP can be used to open or close the PDU's electronic access system door locks, per the object's own description, which itself recommends only enabling this with SNMPv3 configured. An admin treats this as a security-sensitive setting, since enabling it means anyone who can issue an SNMP SET with sufficient privilege could remotely unlock a cabinet or cage door. For example, following the description's own guidance, an admin only enables enableEASSNMPControl after first setting snmpSnmpSecurityLevel to v3AuthPriv, so door-lock commands require authenticated and encrypted SNMP sessions rather than a plain community string.
